In the School Section, I will make available schoolwork such as papers and presentations that I have written since my sophomore year in highschool, as well as other material that is related to my schoolwork now or from the past. I am not putting all of my work on the site because some of it will make no sense (some of the work I have saved is simply responses to questions asked by my teachers).

I will post new assignments only after the deadlines to turn in the assignments have passed.

I recommend that if you wish to view a file, right-click on the file and click Save As.

A Cost Effective Tracking Method for the Healthcare Field

At Drexel University, freshman engineering students work on a design project throughout the Winter and Spring Terms (January 2004 - June 2004). My group, which consisted mostly of computer/electrical engineering students, chose to focus on a tracking system for the healthcare field. During the last few months, we have research existing tracking systems and possible alternatives for our own system. After some time we narrowed our design to an affordable system for tracking the locations of patients, personnel, and equipment inside of buildings like hospitals and nursing homes. Much of the project was intended to teach us the steps involved in real world engineering projects, and how to go about finishing those steps. Here are some of the documents that we produced during the project. For details about the actual project, download the final report (see below).

This was a brief document that stated the topic of our design project. It's primary purpose was to identify a problem and a need to solve the problem. It was based on our initial research into the topic of our choice.
Our proposal discussed our problem in more detail than the Problem Definition Statement. It defines the problem we are working to solve, the need for a solution, the alternatives that we considered for solving the problem, and what we planned to do to solve the problem.

PowerPoint (.ppt) (5.05 MB) - Microsoft PowerPoint file
My group and I gave a presentation on April 20, 2004, that covered most of the work that we did on the design project. It outlines the problem, need for a solution, current state of the art and possible alternatives for a solution, and finally, our proposed solution. The file here is simply the PowerPoint file that contains our graphical presentation. I do not have a transcript of the presentation.
Our final report. This is the most accurate and complete description of our design project. This document outlines the reason that we chose this project, the work that we did to reach a solution, and our solution.
